Evaluation of EiE Preservice Education Program

Evaluation of EiE’s BEST (Bridging Engineering, Science, and Technology for Elementary Educators) grant has focused on how the project impacts participating faculty and their students.

Impacts on Participants 

In surveys and focus groups, faculty participants reported the following:

  • acquisition of new engineering and technology content knowledge
  • improved attitudes towards integrating engineering with existing curricula
  • gradual changes in classroom instruction

In pre- and post-assessments of students enrolled in courses taught by faculty participating in BEST, we evaluated the following:

  • changes in students' understanding of technology and engineering topics
  • improvements in students' attitudes toward technology and engineering topics
