Engineering is Elementary

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Museum of Science, Boston and Oracle are collaborating with the Orlando Science Center (OSC) to bring an award-winning STEM curriculum, Engineering is Elementary® (EiE®), to elementary schools in the Orlando area. A $25,000 grant from Oracle will support 20 Florida elementary teachers in learning to implement the Engineering is Elementary® (EiE®) curriculum through a professional development workshop hosted by OSC; the scholarship recipients will also receive a complete set of EiE curriculum materials to use in their classrooms.

BOSTON, Mass. – The Museum of Science has awarded scholarships for its Engineering is Elementary (EiE ®) program to 80 elementary teachers from 21 states. The scholarship program helps teachers at high-needs schools nationwide introduce the engineering and technology components of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) to their students using the award-winning Engineering is Elementary curriculum.

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The winners of the 2017 Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize in Education, one of the most prestigious awards in the field, were announced today. The Prize, founded in 1988 to honor the retiring former CEO, recognizes outstanding individuals who have dedicated themselves to improving education through new approaches. The EIE Curriculum

BOSTON, Mass. – The Museum of Science announced today that a generous grant from EMC Corporation to the Museum of Science, Boston will help elementary schools in Worcester implement an award-winning STEM curriculum. The grant allows 10 teachers from six elementary schools to attend a professional development workshop at the Museum of Science on August 9, 2016. During the workshop, teachers will learn to implement Engineering is Elementary® (EiE®), the inquiry-based curriculum developed by the Museum at its National Center for Technological Literacy® (NCTL®).

BOSTON, Mass.—A Global Impact Grant from Cisco Systems, Inc. for Engineering is Elementary® (EiE®); a project of the Museum of Science, Boston; will fund a pilot project to create digital professional development resources for teachers of elementary engineering nationwide. The $125,000 grant from the world’s largest networking company supports the Museum in its mission to transform engineering and technology education across the United States and beyond.

Thanks to support from MathWorks, the Museum of Science, Boston will bring an award-winning STEM curriculum to elementary students in three Massachusetts school districts. A grant from the Natick-based software company will support two dozen elementary teachers from Haverhill, Brockton, and Lowell schools in learning to implement the Engineering is Elementary® (EiE®) curriculum developed by the Museum’s National Center for Technological Literacy® (NCTL®).
